The Importance of Application
Casting refractory, of which its raw material is supplied and processed by the manufacturer , is given to the user to be mixed with water , to be dried, to be formed,to be cured and to be checked for all those if they are appropriate. This shows that there are only 2 pre-processes applied by the manufacturer and there are at least 5 pre-processes applied by the user. At the end, the material is accepted or denied by the user.
Storage Life
It can be safely stored in a closed and a dry medium about 1 year if it is no more than 6 packets in one row placed one above the other.
Mixing by Hand
A clean surface should be used.
Castable , while it is dry, should be stirred slowly before adding water. After that clean water should be added slowly while it's being stirred.
Mixing by Machinery
It is very important to have clean mixer. A whole packet of Castable is poured into the mixer. Water should be added slowly until having a low viscosity and the Castables should be prevented to be getting lumpy.
The duration of mixing should be minimized
( 1 or 2 minutes is enough.)

The mixer should be close to application area to prevent seperation of grains.
The mixer should be completely clean before used.
Clean water should be used strictly.

The mixture should not be very dry (cracks may occur) The mixture should not be very wet (seperations may occur) Fine mixture
Setting Time
To prevent evaporation materials should be covered with polyethylene blanket (Wet bags should be used in order to prevent to have a weak surface)
Maximum performance and strength is obtained about 20-30°C' . Setting should be applied below 20°C The duration is 24h.
Drying
Polyethylene blanket should be removed and the castable should be cured for at least 24 hours. Temperature is raised 30 °C, per hour up to 300 °C it is hold at this temperature about 5 h. After that temperature is raised by 50 centigrade degrees per hour up to 800 °C
It is again hold at this temperature for 5 more hours then taken to the service..
Anchors
To have castables a better adaptibility to the surface That It's been applied, it is advised to use the anchors in The upper figure.

Anchors should be seperated by 20 cm and it should be 2 cm shorter than the thickness of the metarial. .
The schematic demonstration of use of the pins which are about 25 - 35 mm and are produced from 308 or 310 quality steel for inereasing the modulus of reptures of materials and to prevent micro cavities caused by thermal and mechanical shocks.
